Create your first Connection

Prerequisites

You must be in an Application and have permissions to manage Connections.

Steps

1. Open the Application and click 'Management'.

2. Go to Connections and click 'Add Connection'.

3. Fill Details:

   • Name, Connection Type

   • Toggles: Can Import, Can Persist, Can Live Edit (as needed).

4. Fill Connection Data (varies by connection type).

5. Click 'Save'.

What 'Save' actually does

Saving a connection also verifies it by trying to establish a connection. If 'Save' fails, treat it as a connectivity, credential, or permission problem.

Common reasons connection verification fails

• Wrong tenant, client, or secret (if using service principal auth)

• Network or Firewall restrictions to the data system

• Missing permissions on the target resource (storage, db, or schema)
