What is the purpose of a Metamodel?

Created by Alexandru Sirbu, Modified on Thu, 5 Feb at 11:45 AM by Alexandru Sirbu

A Metamodel is a core concept in WOODY.IO. Essentially, it serves as a container representing a specific data migration process. It specifies the destination where the data will be stored, based on its Connection, as well as the source from which the data will be ingested, defined by a Connection and a Transport Type. A Metamodel consists of Entities that define the destination schema, and Import Templates that map the source data to the destination schema. Additionally, Business Rules within the Metamodel validate data during processing, while Transformations enable data modifications before being stored in the destination.
